Artist Statement

My name is Denise Landi. I’ve been a professional practicing artist for over 40 years. I’ve sold work out of my home and studio while also exhibiting in local galleries. My work is described as dynamic, engaging, spiritual, and meaningful by my collectors. I feel that my desire to capture not just the visual but the psychological aspect is the reason. My work ranges from figurative to semi abstract and at my best the two combine. 

Manifestations of light and shadow build the forms in my work whether it’s a figurative or an abstraction. When I set out to paint I have many inspirations but there are certain moments, even certain words that start each piece. I’m an instinctive painter and the work is process oriented and always a destination my heart recognizes.
